World’s Tallest Building Lights up in Croatian Colors for Argentina Win

June 22, 2018 – An unbelievable Croatia destroyed Argentina and quieted Leo Messi for one of the greatest spectacles of the World Cup so far.

I think it’s fair to say that many of us still feel like we’re dreaming after Croatia completely crushed Argentina at Nizhny Novgorod Stadium in Russia last night. It was the most exciting game of Group D, and Croatia’s performance has surely instilled the euphoria of ’98 once again.

While the streets of Croatia celebrated and international media raved about the team’s perfect performance – the world’s most famous landmarks even came out to support a job well done.

The Burj Khalifa skyscraper in Dubai, the 828-meter building that has been named the tallest in the world, dressed in Croatia’s colors last night to celebrate the win with the rest of us around the world.

Damir Korjenić, a reader of Index.hr, sent the Croatian portal the beautiful Burj Khalifa sight, which, in addition to Croatian colors, was inscribed with a massive ‘Croatia’.

“Join us this football season and watch the LED lighting on Burj Khalifa transform into the world’s largest traffic light,” said Burj Khalifa on Facebook.

The tallest building in the world has marked every goal of the world cup and will continue to do so until the end of the World Cup in Russia. With Croatia’s three-goal shutout last night, Burj Khalifa must have been exploding with red.
