After the overwhelming success of last year’s Mobile Visitor Center, the Tourist Board of Rogoznica has successfully implemented another important project.
Along Rogoznica’s more than 50 kilometers of coastline, 8 smart benches have been implemented! With one smart bench for each settlement, Rogoznica has thus become the first municipality in Croatia to implement this new blend of modern technology and practicality in all of their tourist areas, reports Dalmacija Danas on April 11, 2017.
“Every year we try to introduce something new and innovative that will improve the conditions of our tourists throughout our municipality. With this project, we want to provide our dear tourists and townspeople with free Internet and the worry-free use of mobile devices while they’re on a relaxing walk by the sea, a swim at the beach, or are sitting and enjoying the beautiful view. We are very pleased that we managed to set up smart benches in all of our coastal areas, making a significant step towards becoming a smart destination,” said Marijo Mladinić, director of the Tourist Office.
The Tourist Board of Rogoznica allocated 150,000 HRK for this project. The investment came to fruition with the company Include from the Solin and a partnership with Hrvatski Telekom.
The Steora smart energy benches are completely independent and are powered by solar panels. The benches charge all types of mobile devices via USB ports, wireless charging, and are equipped with advanced 4G Internet. In the evenings they adorned with LED ambient lighting.
