On the last day of his official visit to Germany, Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli met with Secretary of State in the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology, Franz Josef Pschierer.

At the meeting which took place as part of the international tourism fair F.re.e in Munich, Minister Cappelli said that he was very pleased that there is such great interest from German tour operators in Croatia and that guests from Bavaria feel at home in Croatia, reports HRTurizam on February 24, 2017.

“Guests from Germany prefer Croatia because they recognize the friendship and security, which indicates that we need to continue to maintain high-quality economic cooperation. Through the exchange of good practices, we want to continue our connection through organizing various forums,” said Minister Cappelli.

In doing so, Secretary of State Pschierer said that Bavaria invests heavily in the development of tourism and particularly emphasized the importance of good cooperation with Croatia. He noted that so far, Croatia and Germany have a stable and intensive cooperation and that he was very pleased that Croatia achieved good results at the level of the overall economy.

“The proximity between our two countries is very important for the tourist trade, but it is also important to encourage other parts of the economy,” said Pschierer, who added that he visited Zagreb and Split last year.

State Secretary Pschierer stressed his desire to visit Croatia in early 2018 with the official economic delegation and offered their experiences with projects that digitize services for citizens in tourism. Similar to the project eVisitor in Croatia, this year there are plans to continue digitizing other services for the citizens of Croatia.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Cappelli announced his attendance at the upcoming ITB Fair in Berlin where he will meet with representatives of air carriers with a view to improve transport links in and out of the tourist season.
