November 9, 2019 – Croatian holiday homes in Dragoslavec and Prigradica won the Best European Holiday Home (BEHH) awards, organized by the European Holiday Home Association for the fifth consecutive year.
Dalmacija Danas reports that at the awards ceremony held on Friday in Barcelona, the best family holiday home was awarded to the Gran Vista from Dragoslavec near Cakovec, while the Villa Palma from Prigradica on the island of Korcula won the best wellness holiday home. This year, there were competitors in eight categories, with as many as 64 finalists from 17 countries as many as 11 Croatian holiday homes.
“I am glad that the tradition continues and that our beautiful facilities have been recognized again for their quality of content and decor. I was very proud to receive awards and congratulations from all other representatives of national associations, which is proof that family tourism in the Republic of Croatia is developing in the right direction,” emphasized the President of the Croatian Tourism Union, Martin Nimac Kalcina, who received the awards on behalf of the Croatian winners.
Nimac Kalcina congratulated the winners and all the nominees for this great success, believing that it would stimulate investment in the quality of other facilities in family accommodation.
“These recognitions are clear evidence of investment in the quality of our hosts, who are the ones that have significantly contributed to the creation of the brand of Croatia as a country of beautiful holiday homes providing a unique experience,” said Nimac Kalcina, urging all members of the community to actively participate in the action and nominate as many Croatian houses and holiday apartments as possible next year.
The Croatian Chamber of Commerce has been a member of the European Family Accommodation Organization since March 2017. With active work within the organization, membership allows owners of family accommodation in Croatia to apply for the best European Holiday Home. So, this year, out of eight finalists in the “Best Health & Wellness Holiday Home” category, were five from Croatia. It is part of the strategy advocated by the Croatian Chamber of Tourism’s Family Tourism, raising the quality of family accommodation through its segmentation, branding, and selection of the target market.
The event was attended by representatives of the largest European and American family accommodation companies, such as Airbnb, HomeAway, Awaze, Interhome, TripAdvisor, Kigo, and representatives of national associations of home accommodation providers.
