Discover the dog friendly beaches in Croatia

June 2, 2023 – Travelling is always more fun with friends! The same goes for man’s best friend, of course. Whether you prefer an active or a relaxed holiday, the Croatian coast will prove to be the right choice. At the very mention of the word holiday, most people imagine the beach and the sea, so why not treat your four-legged friend to the same? We already know that Croatia offers some of the world’s most beautiful beaches for humans. Now, discover which of them you can enjoy with your pet for a dream holiday. Here’s a recap of dog friendly beaches in Croatia, as written by Turističke Priče.

the Queen of dog friendly beaches in croatia

Certainly one of the most famous dog friendly beaches in Croatia is the Podvorska beach in Crikvenica. This multi-award-winning beach has the most modern equipment and is sure to make every owner and their dog go “woof”. What makes this beach truly special, however, is the first café for dogs. We all know how loyal dogs are, which makes them loyal customers. We promise they’ll love this innovation – an offer of ice cream, chips and beer for dogs! Even if your dog’s name isn’t Rex, they’ll definitely feel like it there!

Kvarner

Kvarner offers many other little corners which are simply dog paradise. For example, Vela plaža in Baška, which is known for its turquoise sea and sand, will make both humans and dogs drool. The Kijac beach in Njivice, Veli Žal on Mali Lošinj, Punta Kolovi between Opatija and Ičići, Vlaška bay in Senj, and a number of small beaches in Rijeka are not far behind. Any dog would rate these beaches with a HUNDred points!

Istria

In addition to the sun and the sea, Istria also offers a great option for an action-packed holiday. Swimming pools, tennis and squash courts, minigolf and many other activities will ensure that your holiday is anything but boring. You can have the best training sessions with your four-legged gym buddy on one of the many dog friendly beaches in this beautiful area of Croatia, such as Verudela, Saccorgianna or Štinjanska uvala in Pula, Lone bay, Cuvi or Borik-Figarola in Rovinj, or camp beach Istria in Rovinj.

dog friendly beaches in Dalmatia

Dogs are our best friends, and even on the beaches they are just perfect company! In Dalmatia, try the numerous dog friendly beaches around Split, such as, for example, the northwestern part of Kašjun or Kaštelet. You can also head down to Zlatni Rat in Bol, or Mlin in Dubrovnik. At Vartalac in Komiža, the atmosphere is just fiery because, in addition to being a dog beach, this one is of volcanic origin!
