If March brings 100,000+, how many will summer bring?
March in Dubrovnik is always pleasant and the skies are usually clear. Just a few days ago (March the 30th to be more precise) Dubrovnik broke its temperature record for this time of year. At almost 27 degrees celsius, bright sunshine and blue skies, the city felt like it had skipped a few weeks and woken up at the beginning of June, it seems as if the trend in the number of arrivals is following the above average temperatures.
Despite a drop of 8% in arrivals in comparison to this time last year, and a drop of 7% of overnight stays due to the annually altering fall of Easter – figures state that 39,120 visitors arrived in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County last month, equalling over 106,000 overnight stays.
Among those registered, the Dubrovnik Times reports that the greatest numbers were made up by domestic tourists from other parts of the country, as well as from neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina, the United States, the United Kingdom, Korea, France and Germany.
