In late May 2017, Nautika Centar Nava became the exclusive dealer of X-Yachts – a Danish-built, performance sailing yacht. This is yet another addition to Nava’s ever-expanding portfolio and a clear step towards moving away from the crowds and offering a ‘premium charter service’.
In an interview with Yachts Croatia Magazine, Sales Manager Sergije Plavša said: “We signed an exclusive-dealer contract with X-Yachts in May. For Nava, that is a big step in a new direction, as we will be adding sailing boats to our fleet of motor yachts and multi-hulls. Still, as do all of our yachts, X-Yachts possess an important feature – quality. The undisputed quality of these Danish sailboats is what we will base our strategy on.”

Nautika Centar Nava will offer the X43 which is the second model in a new range; X-Yachts are renowned for the excellent sailing performance, yet, in fitting with charter – they also have a spacious and comfortable design, above and below deck.

Why is this exciting for the would-be-charterer? The majority of people who charter a yacht and come sailing in Croatia are, let’s call them – recreational sailors or holidaymakers. Many people charter a yacht with a skipper, so they can enjoy, others charter bareboat so they can take the sailing experience into their own hands; but, what if you are a keen sailor, with experience in racing, who doesn’t have their own yacht, yet you want to feel the thrill of racing?

Most yachts in charter are of a high-standard but not all are made for racing; this where X-Yachts come in. X-Yachts have a fantastic ‘track-record’ at international sailing competitions; in June 2016 the Xp-44 “Amber Mills” won the Giraglia Rolex Cup which is one of the most important racing events in the Mediterranean, another race which took place in Annapolis in June last year was the Bermuda Race where again, the Xp-44 “Rival” took first place in a fleet of 25 yachts, reaching whopping speeds of 22-knots!
And X-Yachts haven’t only done well in foreign waters but also here in Croatia; the X-41 “Nube” has won the ORC Croatian Cup three times, while X-41 “X-Cite” won this year’s (2017) famed Easter Regatta in Hvar with Tonko Rameša at the helm.
The sailing success of the X-Yachts says it all really but the new range have also been designed with a modern eye and comfortable living in mind; making them perfect for entering the charter market. X-Yachts have 35 years’ experience in boat-building and have won a host of awards over the years: winning the ‘Sailing World Boat of the Year in 2014’, the ‘Adriatic Boat of the Year in 2013’ and a number of nominations including multiple-nominations for the European Boat of the Year.
As the exclusive dealer of X-Yachts and now offering them in their charter fleet, Nautika Centar Nava is no doubt setting the scene for other companies to follow suit and it also ties into creating an even better offer for those who wish to come sailing in Croatia.
