The Numbers are In: Zadar County had 1,278,868 Overnights in September Alone

From January to September 2016, Zadar County recorded 1,513,077 arrivals and 11,124,696 overnight stays – 219,600 were domestic tourists, generating a total of 2,576,460 overnight stays, while foreign tourists made up 1,293,477 with 8,548,236 overnight stays, the Zadar County Tourist Office reports.

Zadarski List reports that in the first nine months of 2016, 685,711 guests stayed in private accommodations, generating 4,836,388 overnight stays. Hotels received 285,951 visitors which made up 1,137,411 overnight stays, and camping accommodations had 262,348 visitors which generated 1,912,865 overnight stays.

 

From January to September of this year, foreign tourists came mostly from Germany with 220,382 visitors and 1,864,960 overnight stays, followed by Slovenia with 182,560 visitors and 1,488,443 overnight stays. These numbers were followed by Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Italy, France, and the Netherlands.

 

In September 2016, Zadar recorded 161,414 visitors and 1,278,868 overnight stays. From these numbers, domestic tourists generated 13,501 visitors and 292,372 overnight stays, while foreign tourists in September generated 147,913 visitors with a total of 986,496 overnight stays. In September, most guests (52,686) once again stayed in private accommodations, making up 408,596 overnight stays. Hotels followed with 47,048 visitors and 174,018 overnight stays, and campers generated 29,784 visitors and 233,234 overnight stays.

 

Zadar County Tourist Office submitted the information for tourist traffic for September 2016, as well as for the period between January-September 2016 in Zadar county. The data was collected from eVisitor on October 7 2016, with added data from ECREW for the same period.
