VIDEO: Gorski Kotar, Green Heart of Croatia, Like You’ve Never Seen Before

Prepare to be “mesmerized” by this video of Gorski Kotar from a team of creative and passionate Croatian photographers and videographers.

Croatian photographers Alen Tkalčec and Petar Krešimir Furjan recorded a phenomenal video of Gorski Kotar which truly captures the beauty of nature we are spoiled with here in Croatia. 

“They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but to illustrate the fullness of the natural beauty we created a video that attempts to depict a fraction of what we had the opportunity to see live! The video was filmed in the locations of Kanjon Kamačnik, Fužine, Omladinsko jezero, and Lokve and the was released on March 2, 2017.

In addition to being named the “green heart” of Croatia, Gorski Kotar is also called the “green lungs” of Croatia or the “Croatian Switzerland” because 63% of its surface is forest area. Gorski Kotar is an integral part of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, and is the mountainous region between Zagreb and Rijeka. The center of this region is the city of Delnice, and some of the better-known towns in the area are Mrkopalj, Čabar, Fužine, Lokve, Lič, Ravna Gora, Skrad, Vrbovsko and Brod Moravic.
