Zadar Nuns Seeking Investors for Luxury Project with Villas, Golf Courses, and Water Park

Zadar nuns are seeking investors for a tourist paradise that would include a five-star hotel, luxury villas, a football field and airport.

On Tuesday, the world’s leading property market opened in Cannes. At the event, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce presented a project to build a luxury tourist complex on an area of ​​more than 1.6 million square meters in Petrčane near Zadar, reports Slobodna Dalmacija on March 15, 2017.

A special feature of the project, which includes a 5-star hotel, resort villas with pools, two golf courses, a water park, an international airport for smaller aircraft, a football camp, and other facilities for guests with higher spending power, is that the project is represented by the company Eco Tour Zadar, which was co-founded by the benedictine monastery St. Mary’s in Zadar.

Moreover, Zadar nuns are the sole owners of the land which envisages the construction of the resort, but the person authorized to represent their interests is Nikola Perkušić from Split.

The large project would spread across two locations above Petrčane and peninsula Punta Skala. The location on Punta Skala would include a coastal area with 1.5 kilometers of sandy beach known for nudists and the gay population in Zadar.

According to the spatial plan of the City of Zadar, on the surface of over twenty hectares which is located next to the existing Falkensteiner resort, it is possible to build a luxury five-star hotel with 300 beds, and 700 beds in villas with swimming pools. Above Petrčane there would be two golf courses with eighteen holes, including accommodation facilities and a water park.

With one golf course on 67 hectares, it is possible to have 330 beds in 5-star villas with swimming pools, while the other 80 hectares of the golf course can provide 690 beds in 5-star villas with swimming pools.

If the benedictine can find investors, this will be the second largest tourist resort in Zadar county built on their land. So far, the Falkensteiner group of Zadar has purchased approximately 100 thousand square meters of terrain at a price of 35 euros, or about 3.5 million euros, from the benedictine.
