October 12, 2023 – We’re almost halfway through October, and it still very much feels like summer. The meteorologists have announced a big change in the weather in Croatia, though, which is set to arrive on Sunday.
Until Saturday, it will remain mostly dry and sunny, with above-average temperatures, but after that, we will be greeted by fresh and often foggy mornings, especially in the interior. According to the HRT forecast, writes Index, the change is coming from Sunday, with occasional rain and thunder, with temperatures dropping in the Adriatic region, accompanied by storms.
Today’s Forecast
Today it should be stable and still really warm in the east of Croatia, but the morning will be fresh with an air temperature of around 10°C and fog in places, especially along the rivers. In the afternoon, a moderate south-westerly wind will blow briefly.
In the afternoon, there will also be a moderate southwesterly in central Croatia, and with mostly sunny weather, the temperature will rise to 26°C. The morning will be calm, in places foggy.
Fog will be common in the valleys of mountainous Croatia, where it could linger, and it is also very likely in the northern Adriatic. During the day, especially in the wider Rijeka area and in Gorski Kotar, there will be moderate, in places, increased low clouds, and a few drops of rain are also possible. However, sunny weather will prevail in most places.
In Dalmatia, sunny and pleasantly warm days remain, with the highest air temperature between 25 and 27°C. An occasional weak to moderate southwest and southeast wind will blow, while the sea will be calm or slightly wavy, while in the morning, fog or haze is possible.
In the south of Croatia, plenty of sunny hours and mostly light wind. The morning air temperature will range from 17 to 21°C, a little lower on the coast, and the highest daily temperature will go up to 27°C.
Summer Weather in Croatia Staying Until Saturday
Mostly sunny and stable weather on the Adriatic is to remain until Saturday. From Sunday, there will be a significant change in the weather – rain will be frequent, local showers and thunderstorms are also possible, and strong southerly winds will blow in places, which will turn into northerly in the evening, with possible strong gusts and storms.
On the mainland on Sunday it will be cloudy, rainy and noticeably colder with the north-easterly wind. On the night of Monday in the highest mountains, snowflakes may even flutter. However, on Friday and Saturday, it will still be stable and really warm, foggy in places in the morning.
