Photo of the Day: Largest Labyrinth

Total Croatia News

The seemingly endless handbuilt drywalls are found on all larger Croatian islands and many smaller ones. They were made from stones cleared from the soil to enable cultivation, usually olive and fig trees, but often vegetables as well. They were used to mark the boundary of parcels or as fences for livestock.

Nowadays often unkept, they line the landscape offering labyrinth-like mazes to explore.
