This Pinot Noir seems to enjoy the Erdut wine growing area and Iuris seems to be doing well with it.
This is not a common story with Pinot Noir. Usually one talks of how demanding and complex it is…
But, here is a domestic Pinot Noir that I had with pleasure. It’s not a complex Burgundy that only a mother could love. However, this “line of sort wines created for your daily pleasure” is just as impressive.
It perfectly fits just that role. In my world this is a perfect everyday wine, not only because of the under 30 Kuna per litre!
I look forward to every Friday and a fish stew from Domaćica with which I will have a glass of this Pinot Noir. It’s good that it has a practical screw-on cap, as it gets better a day or two after opening, when winded, relaxed and softened. Without losing its Pinot Noir fruit character.
Transparent in colour, as it should be. Any other colour would be frivolous. Unpretentious, but still serious wine. Broad, refreshingly fruity, soft and mannered, not overly ripe, without fats or weight. The soft face of Pinot is felt well. Preserved characteristic scents and taste of raspberries and forest strawberries, not overly sugary.
And yet completely ripe, not at all “green”. Pleasant fullness and exquisite drinkability. Wonderful wine, so accessible, not overly concentrated. With soft acids in all the right places.
Juicy, daily, unexpectedly pleasant.
