A lovely scent of cherry, strawberry, blackberry and dark chocolate, wrote the reviewers of Wine Stars about the Istrian 2015, a Refošk by the Veralda winery from Brtonigla. They gave the lively, full and complex wine four stars and recommended it with beefsteak, wild game and lamb. Istrian was also declared this year by the British Decanter as world’s best among single sort red wines above 15 pounds. A bottle in Vrutak costs 188 Kuna.
Three stars went to a flirty sweet sparkling wine Moscato Rose by Italian winery Astoria, available in Roto Dinamic for 54 Kuna. Competing were also Sabio 2014 sparkling wine by Korta Katarina winery from Pelješac (Miva, 224,50 Kuna) and Chardonnay No 1 Bouquet Baranje 2015 Pinkert (Inkora S, 45 Kuna).
