When invited to a show at the Douglas perfume shop in Zagreb, we didn’t know what to expect. These folks decided to present together the Moët&Chandon Pink Imperiali champagne and My Guerlain La petite robe noire EDT scent. Can’t say it was a common combination.
But a pleasant surprise ensued. Firstly, champagnes were distanced from constant wine cellars and restaurant and placed in an unexpected atmosphere. Looking at the people, especially women entering the perfume store, I noticed they were pleasantly surprised and even more open to tasting than they would be in a wine cellar where the champagne story is explained by a sommelier. So, the champagne was successfully brought close to consumers.
What’s the connection between Guerlain and Moët&Chandona? Simple – they’re both part of the same company, and what connects them the most is – luxury.
As the Moët&Chandon Rose is one of the ultimate things women with style consume (those that can afford it), then Guerlain products are the same. The very logo of Guerlain fragrances shows they strive for refined but classical, as their logo is the little black dress – probably the most classic and often the favorite garment present in probably every woman’s wardrobe.
I believe I explained the connection between the two products, and as the event went on, with the excellent Moët&Chandon and fantastic Guerlain fragrance in the air, the atmosphere became better and better. I kind of felt bad about not being a woman, but then I had another idea – naturally Guerlain has men’s scents, naturally Miva Wine Gallery has products without pink in their name – so why not combine products for a male audience next time?
Among the many lovely ladies, I will single out the singer Vanda Winter. Probably one of the best voices of Zagreb’s Komedija theatre. As I am a journalist, I cannot resist a bit of yellow press and say that unofficially it is said that Vanda Winter may be the new cover face of Guerlain Croatia.
In the end, all I can say: great idea and great performance. The beauty of these stories is in the fact we try to bring together the unthinkable.
Just one more advice to men:
If you want to surprise your love and not make a mistake at it, there are three things you can’t go wrong with: a little black dress, My Guerlain La petite robe noire EDT and Moët&Chandon Pink Imperial (to be gifted in any order or all together) and if she already has it all, then enjoy, as she is obviously a woman with style, which reflects on you – as that woman with style chose you.
