Croatia Water Polo Team Gears Up for World Championships in Japan

July 10, 2023 – National team coach Ivica Tucak has selected 15 players for the Water Polo World Championships in Japan next week.

After a friendly match against the USA (8:6), Croatia water polo coach Ivica Tucak selected 15 players who will represent the country at the World Championship in Fukuoka from July 17-29.

Center Antonio Dužević was left out of the list of 16 players that the coach took to California.

Each national team or coach at the World Championships will be able to choose 13 players from a total of 15 registered players for each match. Croatia will play in Group C at the World Championships against Argentina, Hungary, and Japan.

The following players are traveling to Japan for the World Championships:

GOALKEEPERS: Marko Bijač, Toni Popadić
CENTERS: Ivan Krapić, Josip Vrlić
DEFENDERS: Rino Burić, Marko Žuvela, Marino Čagalj, Andrija Bašić
FORWARDS:
Konstantin Harkov, Jerko Marinić Kragić, Luka Bukić, Ante Vukičević, Franko Lazić, Zvonimir Butić, Filip Kržić

Croatia leaves for Japan on Tuesday at 9:30 pm Croatian time, where they will arrive on July 12 at 12:55 pm Croatian time. They will play their first match in Fukuoka in exactly one week, on July 17 at 9:00 am Croatian time, against Argentina.
