Total Croatia News

Ivica Lenard and Igor Toman (cyclists), Dražen Ćućić and Dragan Maloševac (marathoners), as well as Darko Zec and Igor Berecki (supporting drivers) is the six man crew who will cover 1.000 kilometers in 72 hours non-stop without sleeping or resting in order to gather funds to purchase medical equipment for sick children, reports 24sata.hr on May 24, 2016. The action is underway from June 28-30 and will start in Osijek and finish in Dubrovnik. The cycling and running marathon will only be interrupted for meals and physiological needs.

Although the named six have an average of 48 years each, their goal is to muster the strength and animate as many sponsors and donators as possible. The action has been named “Lege for superhero children” (lege being the Slavonian word for friends) and is organized by the Osijek society “Hrvatski dragovoljac” and held as part of the “Veliki za male” initiative, which saw many action and initiatives in the past.
The start is on Tuesday June 28 in Osijek, while the cyclists, runners and support crew follow this route for three days: Osijek – Virovitica – Bjelovar – Zagreb – Karlovac – Delnice – Crikvenica – Karlobag – Zadar – Šibenik – Split – Makarska – Ploče – Dubrovnik. The planned short breaks are supported by local motocycle and sports associations along the route, while action participants invite all who are interested to join in with donations as well as bicycle rides or running during their visit to their towns.

A Facebook page “Lege za djecu superjunake“ has been opened to allow for regular news on preparations and event updates.
