Famous sorts as well as some indigenous ones are set to be introduced to half a million visitors

Over three thousand bottles of most significant Croatian wines will be presented at the La Cité du Vin wine festival, to be held in Bordeaux on June 1st, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) announced, as reported by Glas-slavonije.hr on May 27, 2016.

The presentation of Croatian wines at this festival is a result of an agreement of the Wine Association of HGK on a three year cooperation with the La Cité du Vin festival. The sorts to be presented are Graševina, Malvasia and Plavac Mali as the most significant in Croatia, along with indigenous sorts such as Pošip and Tribidraga. Nineteen Croatian wineries will present their products: Agroprodukt, Badel 1892, Belje, Degrassi, Dingač Skaramuca, Dubrovački podrumi, Iločki podrumi, Kozlović winery, Krauthaker, Osilovac, Poljopromet, PP Orahovica, PZ Maslina i Vino, Rizman, Jako vino, Vina Matošević, Vina Poletti OPG, Z.T.O. Benvenuti and Zlatan Otok.

La Cité du Vin festival was started by the French Foundation For Culture And Wine Promotion to enable visitors, professionals and enology lovers to meet wines from around the world in one place. The festival is expected to host 500 to 800 thousand visitors this year, taking part in numerous workshops as well as wine and wine sorts presentations, making this festival one of the most important in the world regarding the presentation of wines, HGK points out. They add that wine production in Croatia in 2015 amounted to 943 thousand hectoliters. At the same time, an export of almost 49,4 thousand hectoliters and import of over 290 thousand hectoliters was recorded.
