Croatia will again be represented in one of the most exciting sailing races, the Farr 40 Regatta. The trial race and the regatta will be shown on the Zadar waterfront, sponsored by D-Marin Dalmacija Marina.
After a successful regatta in Šibenik, the best crews in the Farr 40 class will return to Croatia for the D-Marin Farr 40 Regatta Zadar. Boats will race the waters of the Zadar archipelago, and all interested parties will be able to follow the race from the waterfront. The D-Marin Farr 40 Regatta Zadar will be held from September 21 to 24.

The owners of these ships are all successful business people, and organizing this regatta attracts a new segment of guests to Zadar and to Croatia,” said Božidar Duka, regional director of D-Marin Croatia, adding that the yachts will be located in D-Marin Dalmacija, the largest marina on the Adriatic – declared the best marina in Croatia last year.

Among the applicants will be the Italian yacht “Enfant Terrible” who won the D-Marin Farr 40 Regatta Šibenik, the first race in this class held in Croatia. In addition to the Šibenik regatta, Enfant Terrible won and Midwinter Championship and the West Coast Championship in the US last year. American Alex Ropers will come to Croatia for the first time this year with his yacht “Plenty”, who won the 2016 Rolex Farr 40 World Championship in Sydney and the 2016 Ancona Farr 40 European Championship held in Italy in July of this year. The Croatian representative at the D-Marin Farr 40 Regatta Zadar is Miroslav Reljanović with his yacht “Damaco”.
The regatta will be judged by a team of 12 professional judges, made up of representatives from the Farr 40 Association and the Sailing Club Uskok from Zadar.

Farr 40 regattas have been held for 19 years in the US, Australia, UK, Italy, Germany, Denmark, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. Croatia will join this elite group with two races to be, from this year on, regularly placed on the calendar for Farr 40 regattas.
Farr 40 is a modern sailing yacht of grand-prix designed by Bruce Farr and Russell Bowler from Farr Yacht Design, in collaboration with the sailing icon Geoff stage. It represents the culmination of the class of one-design sailboat racing, observing strict rules to all boats and their weight as equal. A special feature of this class is the fact that the owners are also required to be captains of their boat, while the number of professional crew members are strictly limited.
