Hajduk fans did not participate in the HNS campaign to support Referee Bruno Marić, who was beaten last week in Stobreč.
Dalmacija News reports that the Disciplinary Judge of the First Division (HNL) Saša Pavličić-Bekić fined Hajduk with 50,000 kuna for the incident during the 12th round match between Hajduk Split and RNK Split, played on October 16 at Poljud stadium.
“During the match between Hajduk and Split, in the north stand of the stadium, the fan group Torcida on several occasions during the match burned flares, where during the 12th and 25th minutes a few of them were thrown on the pitch – forcing the match to be temporarily stopped two times. Also, at the very beginning of the game and after 57 minutes, in the same north stand, there were scans of threatening messages to Referee Bruno Marić. Since this is a frequent repetition of violations of Article 67 of the DP HNS, and repeated violations of Article 88 DP HNS, Hajduk has received a unified fine in the amount of 50,000 kuna,” published Wednesday on the website of the First Division (Prva Liga).
Football referee Bruno Marić, on 11 October at a restaurant in Stobreč, was physically attacked by several people.
Croatian media says that this is the last warning for Hajduk – if it happens again the club will be punished more severely, most likely playing in front of empty stands.
