Three people have been injured, and the plane has been destroyed.
A small aircraft crashed late on Friday afternoon on the island of Lošinj, near the Kandija tourist resort and the local airport. Three people, Austrian nationals, were injured, reports Jutarnji List on June 17, 2017.
The Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (HGSS) reported that the accident occurred in the south-western part of Mali Lošinj.
According to the initial information, the pilot lost control for as of yet unknown reasons. The aircraft crashed and is completely destroyed. Two people have suffered more serious injuries, while one person had just slight injuries.
“Three members of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service in Mali Lošinj arrived from their jobs to the accident site within 35 minutes. The location of the crash is in a dense forest,” reported the HGSS.
“All three people received medical help, were stabilized and prepared for transport. The emergency medical service transported the two individuals with more severe injuries by a helicopter to the Rijeka hospital for further care. Due to the possibility of fire or explosion of the aircraft, the scene of the accident was secured by local firefighters,” reported the HGSS.
