Zagreb County remains the safest county in Croatia
According to the 2016 Report on the Status and Changes in Basic Security Indicators in Zagreb County presented by the Deputy Chief of Zagreb Police Administration Dubravko Teur, based on the number of criminal offences per 100,000 population, Zagreb County remains the safest county in the Republic of Croatia.
In 2016, there have been 2,479 criminal offences, 2,081 traffic accidents and 4,585 public order offences. If we look into the crime rate per police station, 560 were recorded in Velika Gorica, 446 in Zaprešić, 363 in Samobor, 298 in Ivanić-Grad, 244 in Dugo Selo, 232 in Jastrebarsko, 184 in Vrbovec and 170 in Sv. Ivan Zelina.
When compared to the same period last year, the crime rate decreased by 3.6%, the number of solved cases increased by 3.2%, and the number of public order and other offences dropped 0.7%. Zagreb County area has been rated as extremely safe and desirable for life, and as in previous years, attention will be given to numerous prevention programs and professional training of the police.
