The Croatian national football team has fallen one place in the most recent FIFA ranking which was released today.
On Thursday, FIFA released their latest world ranking which shows that the Croatian national football team has fallen one spot to the number 16 best in the world. The team has collected 1007 points to be ranked in the number 16 position, announces HNS on August 10, 2017.
Of Croatia’s rivals in the qualifying Group I for World Cup 2018, Iceland ranks 20th best, falling one place from last month. Ukraine, who is now in 27th place, has also fallen two places.
Turkey, the team Croatia will play against in the qualifiers on September 5th, remained in the 33rd position, and Finland has retained its 110th place since last month. Kosovo, Croatia’s next home game competitor in the in the European qualifier on September 2nd, has dropped three places to 180th.
After just one month, Brazil has kicked Germany from their first place position, naming Brazil as the best-ranked team in the world with 1604 points, and Germany as the second best with 1549 points. Argentina has made the jump to third place, and Switzerland has climbed to fourth place, which is their best ranking since 1993 when they placed in third.
Poland has also moved up one place to the fifth position, which is their best ranking in history.

Croatia has four upcoming European qualifiers for World Cup in which they will try to keep their first place in the group and thus advance to World Cup 2018 in Russia. Two of their four remaining matches will be played at home.
On September 2nd, Croatia will face Kosovo at Maksimir Stadium in Zagreb and on October 6th Croatia will face Finland in Osijek at City Garden Stadium.
