Split-Dalmatia County Welcomes 58 Foreign Tourism Journalists

This is the first time Split-Dalmatia County has done such a project. 

As part of the study trips organized by the Tourist Board of Split-Dalmatia County and in cooperation with the tourist communities of Split, Hvar, Brač, Vis, Solin, Klis, Trogir, Trilj, Sinj and Omiš, for the first time, 58 foreign journalists specializing in tourism will visit Croatia from countries where the Croatian National Tourist Board has representative offices, reports HRTurizam on May 12, 2018. 

“Although HTZ invites foreign journalists on study trips to Croatia, I wanted to do something different and invite influential foreign journalists to get acquainted with all the tourism values of our county. This is the first year we are doing this kind of travel where we have invited journalists to stay and tour our county exclusively, and we will cover all of the costs. The journalists will be in constant contact with our best guides and have a chance to experience Central Dalmatia,” said Joško Stella, director of the TZ Split-Dalmatia County.

Through three study programs, the journalists will be introduced to the natural, cultural and gastronomic possibilities of the county, with particular emphasis on selective forms of tourism, cycling, the gastronomic offer and active vacations.

“Tourist agents and journalists are coming to ‘inspect’ our region and share their impressions and recommendations in their media around the world. They are the first celebrities of the season who will create a picture of us as hosts which can significantly influence the course of the main part of the business year,” concluded Stella, adding that the online campaign of the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board is in line with the habits and needs of individual markets and targeted groups of guests, thus aiming to create the best preconditions for a quality and long business year for the satisfaction of both the guests and hosts.

Also, in cooperation with the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board, Split Airport, the City of Kaštela and the Kaštela Tourist Board, the info-desk of the County Tourist Board will function at the Split Airport.

Nearly three million passengers who pass through Split Airport this year will soon be introduced to the tourist offer of Central Dalmatia. Scheduled ferry services, trains, buses, service work, and other useful information will be available to guests arriving at Split Airport at the info desk, which is open from May to late October every day from 8 am to 9 ppm.
