Ever wondered what it’s like being a tour guide in Split?
September 26, 2018 – Thousands of tourists flock to Split each year and trust in certified guides to teach them about the city’s vibrant history, the stories hidden within the narrow alleyways, and the intricate details etched on city walls. A place like Split manifests antiquity, and it’s easy to miss many of the particulars that make the city so unique.
From the depths of Diocletian’s Palace to the 3,500-year-old perfectly preserved sphinx on Peristyle, Split is a living and breathing museum – so why wouldn’t you confide in the knowledge of a guide to show you around?
We decided to follow tour guide Gytha Galić for a day in Split to see what some of her favorite gems are in the city, from the geek-heaven that is the famous Game of the Thrones shop to secret gardens, 8th-century homes, and Diocletian’s dining chambers.
