Istra Inspirit is a multi-award winning adventure tourism project that enriches the cultural and tourist offer of the peninsula by reviving historical events in authentic locations, through Istrian legends and myths.
On Thursday, Istra Inspirit was awarded their seventh consecutive award, and this time at a competition organized by the European Cultural Tourism Network in the category ‘Contribution to Cultural and Creative Industries’. Istria Inspirit, as the only finalist from Croatia, came in third place for their ‘Revival of the cultural and historical heritage of Istria through cultural tourism’, reports HRTurizam on October 26, 2018.
Istra Inspirit was awarded in Cyprus at the ‘Cultural Heritage as Responsible and Sustainable Tourism’ conference.
The conference, entitled ‘Cultural Heritage as Responsible and Sustainable Tourism’, was organized for the European Year of Cultural Heritage – #EuropeForCulture. The awards ceremony took place at a festive gala evening at the conference center Pantheon in Paphos, Cyprus, which was also the European Destination of Culture in 2017.
Istra Inspirit enriches the cultural and innovative experience of the Istrian peninsula at the European Union level.
“We are pleased to point out that Istra Inspirit is once again recognized as a project that enriches the cultural and innovative experience of the Istrian peninsula at the European Union level and by a European organization dealing with cultural tourism. Awards and prizes at the international level can contribute to the promotion of the project, as well as further emphasize its quality and innovation. We believe that with the constant effort and perseverance in providing a unique cultural experience, we can revive the stories, myths, and legends, thereby enriching the cultural and adventure tourism of Istria,” said Morena Milevoj, marketing and PR coordinator of the Istrian Development Tourist Agency – IRTA d.o.o. under which the project is implemented, adding that the conference presented Istria as a tourist destination.
Istra Inspirit has now received 7 prestigious international awards.
This acknowledgment is further proof and confirmation of Istra Inspirit’s many years of successful work. The project of the Istrian County Administrative Department for Tourism, implemented within the Istrian Development Tourist Agency, has so far been recognized as a significant product of cultural tourism, and has been awarded with prestigious awards including the CBTour Award for Best Creative Program of Croatian Business Tourism, the MRAK (Network for Development and Creativity) – Award for the Best Creative and Innovative Tourist Product, ‘Simply the Best’, ‘Golden Goat 2012 / Capra d’oro 2012’ , ‘Golden Zoom Awards’ – the best marketing campaign for tourist destinations awarded under the Travel Zoom conference in Bled, Slovenia, and the ‘Creative Tourism Award’ for the most creative experience in 2014, awarded to the Istrian Inspiration by the International Creative Tourism Network organization in Barcelona, 2015 .
Additionally, UNWTO has included Istra Inspirit among the 28 best tourist stories of the world, which is listed in the renowned and acknowledged Tourism Stories of the World Tourism Organization issue.
