February 14, 2019 – The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for new flights to Croatia with updates from Dubrovnik, Pula, Rijeka, and Brač airport.
Great news for Brač Airport which saw incredible growth last year as Ukrainian carrier SkyUp Airlines, which launched last year as a charter, has announced that they will start services between Kiev and Brač for the upcoming tourist season, reports Ex Yu Aviation.
Namely, SkyUp will operate flights twice a week between Kiev and Brač from June 1 until September. Flights will run on Saturday and Sunday.
“We hope that sales will be satisfactory and we look forward to our first flights from Ukraine,” Brač Airport said.
SkyUp’s fleet boasts three Boeing 737-800s and one B737-700, with orders for three B737 MAX 10 and two MAX 8 aircraft, added Ex Yu Aviation.
In other news, British carrier Jet2 has announced the Airbus 321 to operate in the summer regularly to Croatia, reports AvioRadar. This is the first time the airline will use the Airbus 321 to Croatia. Namely, this aircraft will be used to service the flight between Dubrovnik and Birmingham. The Airbus 321 will operate on Saturdays instead of the Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Also, Jet2 has extended its service between Dubrovnik and Birmingham in the pre and post season by two months and will begin with traffic this year on April 2, 2019.
British carrier TUI announced that they have canceled three lines to Croatia this summer to Dubrovnik, Pula, and Rijeka. TUI will no longer operate between Dubrovnik and Leeds, though the route between Dubrovnik and Cardiff remains unchanged.
TUI also announced that they would service Rijeka with London Gatwick and Manchester for the first time this year, which were both meant to operate once a week, on Thursdays. However, the line between Rijeka and Manchester has been canceled until May 2020. The Rijeka-London line will work this year, though with the Boeing 737-800 leased from Norwegian Air.
Finally, the line between Pula and Edinburg, which operated for a few years once a week, will no longer run, reports AvioRadar.
