March 12, 2019 – The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for new flights to Croatia with updates from Rijeka, Dubrovnik, and Split.
AvioRadar reports that German airline Condor will operate between Frankfurt and Rijeka twice a week, which is the same as last year. In addition to flights on sale for Saturdays, passengers can book flights on Thursdays, from June 27 to October 3, 2019. However, flights on Saturdays will begin three weeks later than last year, or on May 25, 2019, and commence on October 26, 2019. Condor will use an Airbus A320 on this line.
The big news this week is that British low-cost carrier Jet2 is already planning their summer schedule for 2020. Among the announced upgrades for next year are three lines to Dubrovnik and one to Split.
Namely, the Birmingham-Dubrovnik line will operate an additional flight in 2020, compared to two flights per week this year, which run on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The third flight will run on a weekday from May 2020.
Likewise, the Leeds-Dubrovnik route will also receive a third-weekly flight. In addition to this year’s two flights per week, on Thursdays and Sundays, an additional line will run on Tuesdays.
Jet2’s Birmingham-Split line will also operate two flights a week on Wednesdays and Sundays from May 2020, reports AvioRadar.
To end this week’s flight announcements, AvioRadar reports that the only line between Croatia and Florence, which was operated by Spanish airline Vueling, has been canceled. Namely, the Florence-Split line ran once a week, from June 1 to September 21 in 2018, with plans to operate the same this year. However, this option is no longer in Vueling’s offer.
The Florence-Split line began operations in 2016 with three flights per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays. The following year, it was reduced to two flights per week, on Fridays and Sundays, and in 2018, it ran just once a week.
Vueling will, however, operate from Barcelona and Rome to Split in 2019.
