April 1, 2019 – The Croatian First League returned for the 26th round over the weekend after the international break. It was a rather exciting weekend for Hajduk who moved into 4th place, which currently secures them a Europa League spot. However, things are not as optimistic for Osijek, after coach Zoran Zekić turned in his mandate.
Another weekend has come and gone in the Croatian First League, which should only get even more entertaining as we near the last few months until the end of the season. Dinamo continued their winning streak, Rudeš continued their losing streak, and Rijeka and Hajduk both pulled out crucial wins this weekend.
Without further ado, here’s our round 26 recap, which was held from March 28 to 30, 2019.
Slaven Belupo v. Rudeš (2:1)
Slaven Belupo and Rudeš opened the 26th round in Koprivnica on March 28, 2019, in front of 633 fans.
Belupo’s Jelić put the home team in the lead in the 17th minute, though Rudeš managed to equalize in the 27th with a goal by Lisakovich. However, just ten minutes later, Belupo retook the lead after Nowak nailed a goal for 2:1, which was the final result of the game.

Belupo is currently in 7th place with 25 points, while Rudeš sits in last with 7.
Osijek v. Gorica (2:2)
Osijek and Gorica met at City Garden stadium on Saturday, March 29, 2019, in front of 1,750 fans.
Gorica took the lead after Lovrić scored in the 40th minute for 0:1 at the half. Skorić equalized for Osijek in the 57th minute, and just one minute later, Gorica retook the lead after Lovrić scored his second.
Ejupi managed to equalize for Osijek in the 69th, though he was also ejected from the game in the 89th. The draw was not enough to keep Zoran Zekić on the bench of Osijek, and Dino Skender will lead the team from here on out.

Osijek is currently in third place with 43 points, while Gorica is in 6th with 39.
Lokomotiva v. Rijeka (1:2)
Lokomotiva and Rijeka met at Kranjčevićeva street stadium in Zagreb on Friday, March 29, 2019, in front of 830 fans.
Rijeka captain Gorgon scored first in the 20th minute for 0:1 at the half. Lokomotiva equalized with a goal by Majstorović in the 49th minute, though Rijeka retook the lead in the 72nd after Puljić scored for 1:2.

Lokomotiva is currently in 5th place with 41 points, while Rijeka is in 2nd with 50.
Dinamo v. Inter Zaprešić (1:0)
Dinamo and Inter met at Maksimir stadium on Saturday, March 30, 2019, in front of 4,106 fans.,
Dinamo’s Moro scored in the 16th minute for 1:0 to take the lead. Andrić missed a penalty for Dinamo in the 30th, and the game ended uneventfully, at 1:0.

Dinamo remains in first place with 67 points, while Inter is in 8th with 24.
Istra 1961 v. Hajduk (0:2)
Istria and Hajduk met in Pula on March 30, 2019, in front of 2,414 fans.
Hajduk’s Jairo scored already in the 11th minute for 0:1 at the half and Gyurcso’s 90th-minute free-kick secured the away win for Hajduk. Caktaš, however, did miss a penalty for Hajduk in the 64th.

Istra is currently in 9th place with 17 points, while Hajduk has moved into 4th place with 43.
