The Hippodrome in Sinj attracted more than a thousand visitors for the 3rd Memorial Ivica Glavan-Ićo equestrian race.

The winning horse of the main event, which was 1600 meters in length, was the three-year-old English half-breed horse Amor At, owned by Milan Cvrlje, trained by Darko Pavić and ridden by Milan Konkolj. Second place was taken by Raphael Santi, and third by Asta the Queen, reports Ferata.hr on September 30, 2017.

“This is, for me, and all of us, a great moment. A lot of effort was invested in training and preparing our horse and eventually, we succeeded. Obviously, there was the great trinity, and that was the horse, the trainer, and the rider. We are really proud to have won this memorial event,” said the happy owner of the winning horse, Milan Cvrlje.

The program itself began at 15:00 last weekend with the 900-meter race called the “Alkar Cup”, held for horses participating in the Alkar ceremonies. In the end, the horse Damin celebrated first with rider Danijel Paleško, who was coached by Franko Ivković. Second place was taken by Alki, and the third by Andorra, all from the Alkar stud farm.

The second race, the famous “Alaschi”, was won by horse Luna, owned by Irene Oršulić, ridden by Mark Vuković and trained by Ivona Domazet Lošo. In second place was Gringo, owned by Ante Markiolija, and third place by Alkar IV, owned by Ante Mijić.

Another race, the ”Alaše”, ran at 1100 meters for English half-breed horses 3 years and older. Decided by a photo finish, first place was won by Amon with Alkar stud trainer Frane Ivković and rider Goran Krstic. Second place was won by Ashkan from the Alkar stud farm, and third place was won by Ranger, owned by Josip Bilandžić.

The awards of the competition were given by the wife of late Ivica, Marina Glavan, accompanied by their children. Other prizes were distributed by Ivica Filipović Grčić, director of the company “Draga Sadra” Lovre Jadrijević, and member of KGK Alkar Tea Dolić. At the end of the equestrian event, the Deputy Mayor Zlatko Ugrin and the President of GKG Alkar 1986, Mirko Penić, were also thanked.

Andrija Kovačević and Tino Milanović, parachuters from the Aero Club Sinj, also arrived with the flags of Croatia and the City of Sinj.
