Dubrovnik Airport was the third busiest airport in Croatia in 2016 after Zagreb Airport and Split Airport in terms of passenger throughput. The passengers arriving in 2017 will now have the opportunity to witness works by a famous artist from Dubrovnik, Iris Lobaš Kukavičić.
Lea Đurović Ruso is the architect behind this idea: in order to properly celebrate the opening of the new building C at the reconstructed Dubrovnik airport, Đurović Ruso suggested an art installation that will glorify the creative potential of Dubrovnik’s local artists, as well as the award-winning water polo club Jug whose players Lobaš Kukavičić transformed into sculptures made out of egg carton boxes. The completion of building C marks the completion of the whole passenger terminal where building A was reconstructed in 2006 and building B in 2010.
