Fabrique Pub: It’s Fantastique

Daniela Rogulj

We all know that Split is no stranger to ‘new’. These days it’s almost hard to keep up with every new bar or restaurant littering the streets of Split, and whether they are geared for tourists or locals, we know that we’re all going to try them anyway to see what new life is being pumped into this ever growing city.

With that being said, as the summer season is quickly approaching and we are gearing up for another scorcher, it’s important to find the places you can run into when your face is melting from the sun and somewhere you wouldn’t mind being stuck in for hours on end…therein lies Fabrique.

The newest member added to the collection of various F Group projects around Split, Fabrique may be hard to beat. Boasting coffee and cocktails, barbecue and pub fare, Fabrique is the first of its kind in the city.

The interior is particularly mentionable, as old industrial charm meets classic Croatian construction. Another perfect marriage of old and new that we see happening more often than not in the ever so trendy Split. Every piece of design is meticulously hand crafted from the light fixtures to wooden chairs, the iron bar to various wall installations perfectly placed throughout the pub.

The menu combines classic pub fare with a modern twist and Croatian spin to bring it all together. Choose from buffalo chicken wings, mac ‘n cheese, fish ‘n chips, a Mexican inspired chicken tortilla wrap, and an extensive list of starters that are almost too hard to choose from. And we can’t forget about the coal-fired Josper grill where you can get pork ribs or tuna steak as a few of the many barbecue options. Not only is the nourishment ace, but the serving dishes they choose to display their grub in are wooden crates and cast iron pots, items that will have you running to the next shop to buy them for your own kitchen. Let’s also not forget about the sizeable list of beers they parade that will have you staring at the menu like the new favorite book you’ve just began.

Fabrique is also massive, a space that is split into three large sections. The first section when you walk in is for coffee and cocktail goers and the far back set for lunch and dinner eaters. There are massive flat screen TV’s scattered throughout the bar with your favorite sport always on, and groups of people have already been joining together to watch the latest futbol matches.

It’s no surprise that the F group have outdone themselves once again, and we can see Fabrique quickly rising to the top of local and tourist lists alike. Especially with the upcoming Euro Futbol tournament in June, you may have just found your new favorite futbol bar!

Fabrique is located at Trg Franje Tuđmana 3. Follow the Fabrique summer on Facebook
