Nights of Diocletian Brings Split Back to Ancient Roman Times this Month!

Are you ready for this year’s Nights of Diocletian?

An event that the Croatian National Tourist Board and the Ministry of Tourism have included in their “Top Manifestations” of Croatian tourism, the “Nights of Diocletian” returns to Split at the end of this month!

One of the most popular events in Split in the summer, the Nights of Diocletian transforms the city of Split back to the time when famous Roman Emperor Diocletian paraded the city.

From August 25-27, 2017, Roman legions will line the city streets and squares of Split, strutting with Emperor Diocletian from the Riva to Peristyle where Diocletian will greet a roaring crowd with his family.

During the three days of the manifestation, guests can expect drums, Roman music, street entertainers, a concert and dance program, and a rich gastronomic offer influenced by the times of Diocletian.

“Thanks to Diocletian’s Palace and the entire cultural heritage, but certainly because of this original tourist story, Split will gain additional value in its promotion to the world markets,” said organizer Tonči Šundov, adding that he is happy that the Croatian Tourist Board and the Ministry of Tourism have recognized the originality and potential of the event.

“Minister Capelli was a guest of this manifestation from the very beginning and that has obviously remained in good memory,” concluded Šundov.

More information will be released soon but until then, save the date and stay tuned on Total Split and the Nights of Diocletian Facebook page
