Talk about a busy Saturday afternoon in the most beautiful city in the world.
Happy Saturday, all!
I left my apartment at noon this morning thinking I’d find a much quieter city center than I’ve found in the past few weeks, only to be surprised by a thriving and bustling Riva with alleyways packed with swarms of tourists.
Sure, an Aida cruise ship wiggled its way into the Split harbor this afternoon, drawing more attention to the hushed city streets I’d found just a few days ago, but this mid-September Saturday afternoon nearly felt like the peak Saturdays of the busy summer season we’ve experienced for weeks on end.
While the increasingly blustering bura wind didn’t seem to make a dent in the already overloaded tourist itineraries, the city, occupied by them, allowed many of us in the city to hold on to the last bits of summer we have left.
