A great start to the season in Jelsa.
May on Hvar is one of the most idyllic times to visit the island, all the more so because so few other people do.
Last year, we were a little shocked to report that the official number of visitors for this gorgeous month in Jelsa region were just 33 a day. 33!
Thankfully, it looks as though things are improving considerably, and if the statistics coming out of Hotel Hvar are anything to go by, have we turn the corner?
Some 450 people will be turning up for breakfast this weekend, as Hotel Hvar (formerly Mina) will be boasting an impressive 97% occupancy at the weekend. Bookings for the season are picking up strongly, and Corpus Christi weekend, for example, is almost 70% booked already. Great news, and long may it continue.
In addition to a vibrant full hotel this weekend, our favourite singing troupe from Vrboska, Klapa Kastilac will be performing by the pool at Hotel Hvar on May 19. Another great evening in Jelsa, in this very special month.
