Some great value diving just above Hotel Amfora, with stunning views and a welcome breeze to match.
For a good value meal with generous portions and great views in Hvar Town, it is hard to beat Villa Dinka, which is situated up the hill next to Hotel Amfora. The fabulous terrace overlooks the hotel’s picturesque cascading pools and looks out towards the sea, and its elevated position catches a welcoming breeze during this very hot summer.
Villa Dinka was first recommended to me by my accountant, who claimed it had the best pizzas in town. That was enough to encourage me to make the short climb up the hill from the coastal road, just before the hotel. Not only were the pizzas great, but also great value, with prices starting at just 35 kuna.
The mixed grill, with six different meat portions, is also great Hvar Town value at 80 kuna including chips and mixed salad. Very tasty, and if you like lamb on the spit, it is a house speciality every Wednesday and Sunday.
