Tower of Tin Ujević, Vrgorac Sights

Daniela Rogulj

Captain’s tower (Torre detta del principe) is one of the largest towers that has walled cobblestones at the top. It is not excluded that it, as well as a series of towers in the same row, was the remains of the towers that were an integral part of the medieval walls. On the captain’s tower stands a memorial plaque with the relief of poet Tin Ujević as the place of his birth, and today this tower is called the tower of Tin Ujević. History considers Tin the most representative and important author of the Croatian poetry of the 20th century.
