From the beginning of October, the Croatian culinary travelogue “Croatia’s Finest” is being broadcast on the National Geographic channel in Asia.
The first and only Croatian culinary travelogue in English, Croatia’s Finest began airing on the National Geographic Channel for the Asian market from October 1 this year. Over the next three years, with reruns broadcast, more than half a billion people will be able to meet Croatia, its rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and top-notch offer through this televised program.
Croatia’s Finest is the first Croatian culinary travelogue in English starring the charismatic British MasterChef Dhruv Baker. The TV show includes 20, 25 minute episodes that will air in over 90 countries across the world. Croatia’s finest is meant to be the largest promotion of Croatia’s gastronomy and tourism to date. In the series, Baker visits the Croatian towns of Poreč, Lošinj, Biograd na moru, Koprivnica, Rijeka, Krk, Split, and Šibenik.
The show’s concept came to fruition thanks Mr. Alen Nemet, the show’s author. Nemet had visited every corner of Croatia several times and always thought that too few people on the planet were aware of Croatia’s beauty and gastronomy. For that reason, he came up with a show that would challenge and change people’s perception of Croatia.
British MasterChef Dhruv Baker cooks in the open in some of the most beautiful locations across Croatia. Inspired by authentic Croatian dishes, each episode focuses on Baker preparing his own creations of Croatian foods and delicacies. Croatia’s Finest goal is to cook in places where no one else has before, such as Zlatni Rat beach in Bol or the Sea Organ in Zadar. In addition to Croatian cooking, the show also explores the crevices of each location it visits, going even more in depth with tourist attractions and local musts.

In addition to National Geographic Channel for the Asian market, Croatia’s Finest has broadcast in the UK and the Channel Holiday & Cruise on Sky TV Channel 256, and will soon start broadcasting in Russia. Plans for Croatia are being negotiated.
