The Icelandic musician is reportedly coming to Pula in summer 2018
The world-famous singer and songwriter Björk is set to perform her first concert in Croatia next summer, reported Glas Istre on December 21, 2017.
While rumours about her being confirmed as a headliner for the Outlook festival have been going around on Facebook lately, the famous Icelandic musician is actually set to perform as the opening act for the 7th Dimensions festival in Pula Arena. The official date hasn’t been confirmed yet, but there have been talks about August 29, 2018.
A woman of many talents, Björk is known an a singer, songwriter, actress, music producer and DJ. She came out with her first solo album ‘Björk’ in 1977, then carried on to perform as a singer in the band Sugarcubes. Since 1993, she has been active as a solo artist, releasing a total of nine studio albums; the latest, titled ‘Utopia’ (2017), is the centrepiece of her ongoing Utopia Tour.
Thirty of Björk’s singles reached Top-40 pop charts all over the world, with 22 in the UK alone. She has reportedly sold around 30 million records in her career and won 116 awards for her work in music and film, one of them being an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in Lars Von Trier’s ‘Dancer in the Dark’ (2001).
Seeing that the Dimensions festival was opened by Grace Jones last summer, it seems like we’re headed for a new tradition of phenomenal music divas setting our best festivals in motion. The upcoming festival season already looks promising!
