As part of the cross-border project Ride&Bike, an innovative solar recharge bench was installed

The Tourism Board of Donja Stubica and Gornja Stubica, together with Gornja Stubica County, are part of a remarkable cross-border cooperation project “Development of selected forms of tourism in cross-border destinations – Ride&Bike, realized by the Zagorje Development Agency as lead partner, from February 2015 to April 2016, as reported on the Facebook page of the named Tourist Board on May 27, 2016.

The goal of the cross-border project was to upgrade the standard tourism offer and increase competitiveness and recognisability of a cross-border area as a unique destination with a rich offer of tourism activities based on nature and gastronomy experiences as well as cultural heritage and active vacation.

The project entailed charting bicycle tourism routes in Krapina-Zagorje County, with 23 charted and digitalised routes with over 688 kilometres in length. A smartphone app was created and a total of five bicycle rest areas setup in the County, namely in Gornja Stubica, Marija Bistrica, Desinić, Kumrovec and Kraljevac na Sutli.

Rest areas are equipped with the INTEGRO Solar Set composed of a sitting bench, table, garbage can, bicycle rack, 2x USB plugs for cell phones or tablets, 1x photovoltage 40 watt panel, 1 voltage regulator and controller and 1 GEL TECH hermetic battery of 65 Ah.
