Croatia in the World’s Top 5 for Alcohol Consumption

The Portal Daily Viz, with the help of data from the World Health Organization, created a map which is solely based on the data of alcohol consumption throughout the countries of world.

The data is based on alcohol consumption per capita, with the research showing that the heaviest drinkers per capita are the Belarusians, while Lithuanians followed suit for second, reports N1.

 

In a comfortable 3rd place is the Czech Republic, with the 4th place slot handed to none other than Croatia.

 

Here is how Croatia drinks in comparison to other Balkan countries.

 

Croatia comes in at 4th place, drinking 12.18 liters of alcohol per capita per year. From this amount, 4.7 liters of it is beer, 1.2 liters of it is brandy, 5.89 liters of it is wine and 0.39 liters of it goes to other alcoholic beverages.

 

Bosnia and Herzegovina came in at 93rd. Residents of BiH drink 4.64 liters of alcohol per capita per year. From this amount, 3.43 liters of it is beer, 0.63 liters of it is brandy, 0.45 liters of it is wine and 0.13 liters of it goes to other alcoholic beverages.

 

Serbia came in at 32nd on the list, drinking 9.57 liters of alcohol per capita per year. 2.93 liters of it is beer, 2.13 of it is brandy, 4.31 of it is wine and 0.2 liters of it goes to other alcoholic beverages.

 

Macedonia comes in at 145th place with 1.16 liters of alcohol per capita a year, while Albania ranks 86th in the world drinking 5.35 gallons per capita per year.
