Magical Courtyards of Zagreb Coming Alive Again

Total Croatia News

The third edition of the “Courtyards” event is coming soon.

A phenomenal event in the words of many Zagreb residents, “The Hidden Upper Town Courtyards” is soon to bring joy to both the locals and visitors once again. For the third year in a row, Zagreb is hosting the Courtyards (Dvorišta) event in the old part of the city which abounds in “secret” courtyards located around museums, palaces and various historical and cultural landmarks, reports journal.hr on June 14, 2016.

In early summer, this project brings a rich and interesting evening program to the courtyards, including pop and classical music concerts that are performed in a modern and an interesting way. Guests can also have delicious culinary snacks, taste the top quality drinks, and enjoy a romantic atmosphere that is typical for Zagreb’s relaxed summer evenings.

“The Hidden Upper Town Courtyards” will start next month soon, on 15 July, and will remain open until 24 July. During those 10 magical nights, every visitor should be able to find in one of the courtyards something special for themselves. The enthusiasts will be well advised to tour all the spots, as it is a truly special experience to visit a few of these courtyards during the same evening. The detailed programme of the event will be available soon, while the regular updates can be seen on the project’s official Facebook profile and on their website.

During the 2015 event, the visitors had an opportunity, among other activities, to listen to stories about the legends and the secrets that are being kept by the courtyards of the houses and buildings in the Upper Town. The event included locations at the following addresses: Demetrova St. 18, Opatička St. 19 and 29, Mletačka St. 8 and Basaričekova St. 11. However, the residents of Zagreb keep asking for more points to be included as the interest is too great and the courtyards can sometimes get too crowded. The specific locations for this year have not been published as of yet.
