More celebrity chefs discovering Croatia
One of the best known British chefs Dhruv Baker is currently visiting Croatia, where he is filming his 20-episodes-long gastro-series “Croatia’s Finest”, reports tportal.hr on March 8, 2016.
Together with the TV presenters Adrijana Dejanović and Rajana Radosavljev, Dhruv will tour Croatia’s regions and towns to present their culinary, cultural and tourist landmarks. Although a small country, Croatia’s gastronomic offer and history never fail to surprise, so no wonder Croatia ended up on chef Baker’s show.
The charismatic British chef is also often a guest on the popular TV shows aired on BBC’s Good Food Channel and a regular “star chef” at international culinary festivals, such as the Dubai Food Festival.
Born in Mexico and raised in India and Tanzania, this true fan of the international cuisine owns a restaurant in London called Jolly Gardeners, which is a reflection of his rich experience. He has recently published a cookbook “Spice”. Spices are exactly what brought him the first place on the British Masterchef in 2010. The finale was watched by seven million people.
One of the biggest culinary names John Torode said that Dhruv is an “extraordinary cook with a palate of an angel”. Baker’s role model Gordon Ramsey asked him to choose in which of Ramsey’s three restaurants he would like to work.
The show is originally meant for international distribution, but Croatian audiences will definitely have a chance to see it on a Croatian TV channel, and it could happen quite soon, at the beginning of the summer.
