The plans Žnjan beach this summer have finally been revealed.

This summer on Žnjan, the City of Split plans to set up temporary catering facilities, toilets, wardrobes and terraces, equipped with electrical, water and sewer installations, and has issued a call for its construction, reports Slobodna Dalmacija on March 16, 2018.

A call to interested parties was organized through the city company “Spalatum D.M.C.”, which mainly deals with renting advertising billboards on the pillars of city lighting. Interestingly, “Splitska obala” was not engaged, which is also owned by the City and maintains the beaches that are not under concession.

The value of the project is estimated at more than 11 million kuna, and requires 16 bars, five male and five female toilets, ten wardrobes, four terraces with a single area of 288 square meters and another four with 384 square meters. Financing is planned to be resolved via “Spalatum”. A decision will be made by city councilors on Tuesday to increase the company’s share capital by 4.1 million kuna, as well as a conclusion on Banovina’s approval of a 4.3 million kuna loan.

The deadline for the registration of potential suppliers was just one week – the call was announced last Friday and ended yesterday. The bidder is required to have a turnover of at least 50 million kuna in 2016 and a minimum of 50 employees – and to be able to participate in the bid, they must also submit a bank guarantee of 200,000 kuna.

The deadline for the final installation of construction at Žnjan is July 1, while the one Banovina guarantees must be installed by June 10. The tender is looking for “a five-year guarantee for all the works and equipment, starting from the date of delivery, with a 10-year warranty for steel structures.”

“We will not keep them on Žnjan as a permanent solution. As you know, everything is working quickly for the planning documentation to launch a new solution for the final Žnjan design. Also, we will not just throw them away. There are still many places in the city where they can serve a purpose. At this point, they are most needed at Žnjan, but afterwards, we intend to use them elsewhere,” says Vice Mayor Nino Vela.
