April 28, 2018 – The ancient quarry in Vinkuran near the city of Medulin will host a phenomenal festival this summer
A new manifestation is about to join the ranks of summer music festivals in Croatia: named Rocks&Stars @ Cave Romane, a series of concerts will liven up the little town of Vinkuran in Istria from June to the end of August.
To be more precise, it’s not the town that will host the attractive shows, but the nearby ancient Roman quarry. Called Cave Romane (Roman caves), the quarry will surely make for a spectacular venue for open-air performances planned for the summer.
The first act in line is the world-famous pianist Maksim Mrvica, who will perform at Cave Romane on June 28.
Mrvica’s concert will be followed by the legendary Croatian singer-songwriter Darko Rundek, the acclaimed classical violinist Stefan Milenković, and the string quartet Bond known under the nickname Spice Girls of Classical Music. The grand finale will be the Italian band Ricchi e Poveri, known as one of the greatest hit-makers in the history of Italian pop music.
Throughout the summer, the ancient quarry will also host a manifestation named Days of Israel presenting the Jewish culture, along with several art exhibitions, a stand-up show of the Croatian comedian Ivan Šarić and the comedy Blues Cabaret performed by Stojan Matavulj. Another thing worth noting? The entire festival will have a humanitarian character: a part of the revenue will be used to donate an incubator to Pula General Hospital. Bravo!
