Looking to personalise your cultural experience in Rijeka?
Croatian National Theatre “Ivan Zajc” in Rijeka has launched the initiative “Let’s Renovate the Rijeka Theatre”. The appeal sent to numerous individuals and companies in Rijeka and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County invites them to join the renovation project. “We can all see the need to renovate our existing theatre building. The appearance of the theatre gives the impression that we do not care about the largest and the most important cultural institution in our city. People are more and more telling us that a play or a concert were great, but that we should work on the overall look of the theatre building. This is a call for everyone to get involved in the renovation project that will begin as early as next year,” reports Novilist on December 30, 2015.
The renovation plan includes several phases, with the first phase involving the renovation of seats in the stalls, and change of the carpets at the entrance to the theatre building, in the cafe on the first floor, and on the floor of the stalls area as well.
By participating in the renovation of the seating area, people can have their names linked with one or more seats or rows in the stalls. The seats must be completely re-upholstered and for this purpose it is necessary to use materials approved by experts. Each row would have a plate with the name of the sponsor, while individuals who want to renovate one (or more) chairs in the stalls have the possibility for each chair to bear his or her name. The renovation process will take anywhere from two to three years.
So far, the initiative has received positive responses from several business, including Medico Polyclinic, Jadran Galenski Laboratorij, and Special Hospital for Orthopaedics and General Surgery “Dr. Nemec”. There is also the first private sponsor – Iva Piglić Lazić. All those interested in sponsoring renovation of individual seats should contact the marketing department of the Croatian National Theatre in Rijeka.
