Kulen was one of the stars of SIAL Fair in Paris.
Baranja kulen was the only Croatian product with protected geographical origin which was presented at the SIAL Fair in Paris, reports Večernji List on October 23, 2016.
The fair gathered 7,000 exhibitors from 104 countries, while Croatian stand included 17 companies which presented their products. The Baranja Kulen Association pointed out that this is one of the largest fairs in the world, which is visited by tens of thousands of visitors. Their aim was to “make a significant step towards the export markets”. As pointed out by Belje, a company which produces the Baranja kulen, each kulen is filled manually and smoked with beech wood and left to mature for at least 90 days.
Belje was one six companies from the Agrokor Group – together with Agrolaguna, Jamnica, Ledo, PIK Vrbovec and Zvijezda – which were represented at the fair, as part of the joint stand that was organized with the assistance of the Croatian Chamber of Economy.
“Expansion of opportunities and opening of new markets is crucial for a successful business in the future. Fairs like this one are excellent opportunities for starting and deepening our international cooperation. With participation at this year’s fair, just like in the several previous years, we saw that SIAL is the right place to position the Agrokor Group in the international markets. Through the contacts and cooperation we will further strengthen the platform for future export success, which is a key determinant of Agrokor’s future operations”, said Jasna Mikačić, export marketing director of the Agrokor Group.
Agrolaguna presented its products under the brands Ol Istria olive oil, Vina Laguna wines, and Sir Laguna cheeses, which have won many international quality awards. Belje was presented with its award-winning wines, Baranja Kulen and ABC fresh cream cheese, Jamnica with Jamnica and Jana water brands, Zvijezda with brands Zvijezda, Margo and Omegol, while Ledo and PIK Vrbovec presented almost their entire range of products.
