ZAGREB, July 31, 2018 – Croatia Airlines ended the first half of 2018 with an operating loss of 79.6 million kuna, a decrease of 17 percent compared with the same time in 2017, the national flag carrier said in a financial statement on Tuesday.
The company said that this was its best financial result in the last four years.
Passenger transport revenue increased by 9 percent to 639.2 million kuna, while freight transport revenue fell by 5 percent to 5.3 million kuna.
Operating revenue was up 4 percent over the first half of 2017, when it reached 726 million kuna. Operating expenditure rose by 2 percent to 803.6 million kuna.
The company carried out 12,802 flights, transporting 949,007 passengers, up 5 percent. The passenger load factor (PLF) increased by 1.3 percentage points to 70.09 percent.
During the reporting period, the company invested 82.6 million kuna, mostly in its fleet, as a result of which the value of its assets had risen by 17 percent since the end of 2017.
In the first six months of 2018, Croatia Airlines operated a fleet of 12 aircraft.
