Croatian Products to Lidl Shelves Across Europe

Featured brand of Croatian products ‘Croamore’ intended for placement into foreign markets through Lidl, reports Ja Trgovac.

Retail chain Lidl Croatia presented Croamore – a brand and recognizable Croatian product intended for placement and sales outside of Croatia. Lidl representatives from foreign countries had the opportunity to taste and choose between more than 90 Croamore products. Lidl offers a breakthrough to foreign markets for open door domestic suppliers such as these Croatian products that find will their place in Lidl stores across Europe.


Lidl, as an international retail chain which operates in 30 foreign markets, regularly offers organized themed weeks through which their customers can try the cuisines of other countries. Customers abroad will be able to purchase these products through thematic weeks that will be presented for Croatia.


The brand Croamore will be introduced to the local customers in other countries throughout more than 300 stores during the week of Croatian products. Carefully selected products include the most recognizable Croatian meats, fish and dairy products, spices, desserts and drinks. In 2015 alone, Lidl has exported slightly less than 9 million Croatian products abroad, which has achieved almost double the increase compared to 2014.


“We are confident that Croatian quality products, thanks to the Lidl merchant network, will enter a number of European homes as they are also present in all retail chains in Croatia and the region, for those who recognize and prefer Croatian products,” said Ema Culi, Director of the Trade Chamber of Commerce, adding that in this way the producers have safe disposal of goods and lower risks of investing in the expansion of production.


“It is our great pleasure to have our European counterparts present more than 90 Croatian products from the brand Croamore, with these products finding their place in the homes of a number of European customers. Our local suppliers use the Lidl network for marketing their products in many European countries, which promote Croatian products and Croatia in general abroad. Great attention is paid to the development of relations with suppliers and the establishment of successful cooperation, which is key during the conquest of new markets while retaining an excellent position in existing markets,” said representatives from the Board of Lidl Croatia.


Lidl in Croatia has been in operation since 2006 and since, its sales network has spread all over Croatia, opening 89 stores and two logistics and distribution centers – employing nearly 2,000 workers.
