Ireland is the final destination for many packages shipped from Croatia.
Slovenian startup Eurosender has covered all the EU countries with its online reservation system for courier services in record time and has now arrived in Croatia. Its founders, Tim Potočnik and Jan Štefe, thought that the services offered by other courier companies were limited, expensive and complicated for the customers. So, they decided to develop a simpler system, reports Telegram on March 6, 2016.
The startup was launched in 2014, and it is the first Slovenian startup project accepted at the German ProSiebenSat 1 business accelerator in Munich. They attracted investments through the accelerator and created a network which allowed them to reach the key markets and design their services with an emphasis on the B2B segment. The aim was to create a platform with unified courier services, focused on simplicity, reliability and lower prices for clients, especially because of a large number of shipments that the clients need and numerous partners they work with.
After covering the rest of the European Union, they are now introducing their services in Croatia as well. They already cooperate with about 800 companies from Croatia which are doing business with other EU countries. Eurosender is focused on providing best solutions for those small and medium businesses which do not have large quantities of goods for shipment and favourable agreements with other shipping companies.
Eurosender says that the average price for the 20-30 kg parcel to be sent from Croatia to Germany is about 18 euros for private persons and that packages are delivered within 2 to 3 days, depending on the courier company. For shipments within Croatia, the price is around 4 euros whether you send the package from Zagreb to Osijek or to some of the islands.
The country manager for Croatia Rok Jarc said that the demand in Croatia is present not only in the B2B sector but that their services are used by many people with family members living outside of Croatia. They were particularly surprised by the number of inquiries related to deliveries to Ireland. All parcels are insured against loss and damage in the amount of up to 200 euros, and they can be tracked at any moment.
